The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) announced today that it is recognising the Invasive Non Native Species (INNS) Code which was recently introduced by the Invasive Non Native Specialists Association (INNSA). The Code protects consumers and property professionals who use INNSA members to remediate sites infested with invasive species such as Japanese Knotweed. The Code is regulated by the Property Codes Compliance Board (PCCB) who will work with BASIS to ensure that all the technical and service provisions of the Code are adhered to.

Simon Law, Chairman of the SLC said: "Invasive species such as Knotweed are of increasing concern for homebuyers and sellers due to the effect that they can have on a property and the relatively high cost of remediation. The INNS Code provides peace of mind to consumers and our members that they are using reputable and reliable companies to remediate infested sites."
