And Justice Lang at London’s High Court agreed and reversed the decision made by former planning supremo Eric Pickles last year, ruling that it should be quashed.
The parish council’s victory came against the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hastoe Housing Association and West Norfolk Council.
Afterwards, John Dobson, chairman of Old Hunstanton Parish Council, said: “It’s a victory for a very small parish council.
He said the parish council was opposed to the proposals because they were in the wrong place, and would, effectively, have joined up Old Hunstanton with its larger neighbour, which they were opposed to.
But Mr Dobson added: “We are willing to talk to Hastoe about an alternative site for affordable housing, which we know is needed in the wider rural area.”
