Retired solicitor and law lecturer Lori Murdock, 59, who lives in Topsham, has a life-threatening skin cancer and doctors have told her the only treatment available costs at least £73,000.
She asked members of the public to give £1 each, hoping if enough people made a donation it could leave her cancer-free.
More than £59,000 has been handed to her so far from supporters in the city and around the world.
Now the mother-of-three has made a plea for the final £14,000, with barely a week to go until her deadline.
